An unforgettable experience.

I would recommend the native choice for anyone who visits Costa Maya. We had an unforgettable experience. The tour guide and our driver were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the Mayans and also the local descendants that still reside in the area. Of course the ruins were remarkable.

Another highlight was stopping at a roadside stand and purchasing a snack of fresh fruit and a spicy pepper seasoning mix from the locals. Very tasty.

Great job Native Choice, if we ever visit again we will be sure to use your service.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR TO ANYONE THAT IS INTERESTED IN SEEING THE MAYAN RUINS AND LEARNING A BIT ABOUT THE CULTURE. OUR GUIDE WAS EXCEPTIONALLY KNOWLEDGE AND PASSIONATE ABOUT THE MAYAN PEOPLE. WE LEFT WITH MUCH MORE THAN WE EXPECTED.

This was a fantastic tour!

This was a fantastic tour! We had a terrific driver (Christian) and an excellent guide who enthusiastically shared his wealth of knowledge about Mayan history, archaeology, and architecture. He introduced us to fresh pineapple with fresh chili powder to let us experience a local treat. He made sure everyone had a great time. A+ !

Top notch, from beginning to end.

What an amazing excursion! Top notch, from beginning to end.

Our guide, Frine, was everything you could hope for...personable, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating. Her ability to tie together vast amounts of info of the Mayan culture with the ruins was impressive, all presented in a relaxed, engaging manner. We were fortunate to have Frine in our brand new van on the way to the site, and she shared lots of insights, history and info on the area.
By far the best excursion we went on. We never felt rushed. We were given as much time as we wanted to take pictures and ask questions.
The online booking was simple and efficient and the cost minimal, especially in comparison to what was offered via the cruise line.
A definite must do.

Look no further......just do it!

Anyone reading this that is considering choosing Natives Choice as a tour guide company, look no further......just do it, they are absolutely brilliant! Ivan was simply the best tour guide. His knowledge of the ruins and surrounding area was made even more special after hearing his own personal story about growing up on site and playing with artifacts as a child. Never again will I book an excursion through a cruise company, I will always search out a local guide, they seem to be much more friendly and genuine, thats how we found Natives Choice, simply by reading testimonials on Trip Advisor. There were about a dozen people on our tour, 4 in my party, it was very personal, Ivan answered all our questions with such passion and we never felt rushed at any time. We loved trying the pineapple with spicy pepper from the ladies at the roadside, it was an unexpected treat, better than the grasshoppers! Thank you Ivan for making our day at the Chacchoben ruins so enjoyable, pity we didn't find a tarrantula, maybe next time! Good luck with your company, your Dad would be proud!

The best onshore experience

This tour without a doubt was the best onshore experience we've ever had. Special thanks to Ivan in bringing the Mayan culture alive. The trip from the ship to the site was very well handled. The driver and our tour guide were excellent. As good as all this was the interaction with the Mayan family in the Chacchoben village & the Myan lunch was a real jewel in the crown. Thank you, thank you.

You can't do better than this group!

We hadn't ever done a cruise with anyone but the cruise ship before. I knew I didn't want to be herded around on a big bus, but I was nervous about going with someone who wouldn't do a good job; or, even worse, not get us back to the ship on time. I read about The Native Choice on Trip Advisor and I'm glad I took the other travelers' advice.

We were in a small friendly group. We had a chance to chat with other passengers and the guide on the way to the ruins. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. The food for the lunch was delicious and the place was very clean.

I had no qualms about eating there. We had a wonderful time and were back to the ship with time to spare. You can't do better than this group!
