By far the best excursion of my cruise.

This was by far the best excursion of my cruise. After a quick check-in at their office, we loaded into a comfortable bus and were on our way to the ruins. David, our tour guide, had great excitement and knowledge about the ruins. At every stop/pause of the walking tour, he had interesting stories/history of the people, structures, and plants.

Would definitely book this tour again or other with Native Choice! Well worth the cost.

Thank you David!

A must have experience

This is a must have experience, go to Dzibanche and get Francisco as a guide!!! There were only 8 of us and you can climb all the ruins. The setting is in the jungle and it is much cooler than Tulum. There are Howler monkeys in the jungle around the site and their calls enhance the visit, This is a 2 hour ride each way from Costa Maya but you get to see a lot of the southern Yucatan peninsula and the people in this region. The vans are comfortable and air conditioned. The guides provide water, restroom breaks, and snack breaks.

It is a fantastic journey and is cheaper through Native Choice than through the cruise ships. The groups are smaller and the guides are excellent! April 19, 2011

Go with The Native Choice

We had a wonderful tour with David as our guide. Also, Catherine was there to help us. This tour is well worth taking. Small group, and we were not rushed at all. Plenty of water was given to everyone. I would definitely advise anyone to go with Native Choice rather than the ship's tours.

By far, the best excursion of our cruise!

By far, the best excursion of our cruise! Our guide, Eliu, was knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. The van ride was air conditioned and comfortable and we were provided with cold water. Also treated to fresh pineapple served with dried pepper on the way to the ruins-great! It was especially nice to have a small group.
The Mayan luncheon was wonderful as was our host family. A really nice touch.

We got to see everything we wanted without feeling rushed and returned to Costa Maya with plenty of time to shop before having to board ship.

Thanks so much!

We definitely recommend this tour!

We definitely recommend this tour! We learned a lot from Louisa on the ride from port to the ruins. She suggested we stop for fresh local pineapple and everyone on our bus loved it! Walking and learning about the ruins and Mayan history wasn't too long or too rushed, it was just right. Well worth every penny. If you aren't sure if you wanna take this tour, we suggest you go for it, you'll be happy you did.

Not to be missed.

When you are in Costa Maya, The Native Choice is not to be missed. Ivan and his staff are excellent! From the reservation process to greeting you at their office everything and everyone makes it a memorable experience. On our way to the ruins the bus stopped and they purchased fresh sliced pineapple from the wonderful ladies at a roadside stand. Some of the pineapple is seasoned with their own dried chile and is truly delicious! Ivan was our tour guide at the ruins and his knowledge is amazing. He covers the past and present and explained the Mayan calendar (no the world is not going to end next year) as well as the Mayan math system.
At no time was the information boring. My wife , an educator, commented that Ivan would make an excellent teacher with his ability to hold your attention and present so much information. So if you want an amazing tour at a fantastic price and at the same time be treated as a guest, be sure to contact The Native Choice tour group. They are all wonderful people and will ensure you have a memorable experience.

Very professional and well worth your business.

We were very impressed with the extra effort the owners made to ensure that we had a tour. Our tour guide, Enrique, was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. Not only did he give us a great tour, he purchased some pineapple along the road and shared it with us. Just an extra touch showing his willingness to have our tour experience a wonderful one. The Mayan village was our 1st but not our last. Thanks to Native Choice. It's always a bit scary venturing off the "cruise ship" excursions but this outfit is very professional and well worth your business.
