We're thrilled to introduce a brand-new tour that combines the most-loved parts of our Mayan Experience and Chacchoben Extreme tours. This new adventure gives you an authentic look into Mayan village life and the chance to unwind at the beautiful Seven Color Lagoon.

Experience the rich culture of Costa Maya with a visit to a local Mayan family. This unique tour invites you to witness their daily life, learn their traditions, and enjoy an authentic, home-cooked meal prepared especially for you.

You'll get an up-close look at a tortilla-making demonstration and even try making your own!
Following a time-honored tradition, your hosts will serve a delicious lunch of traditional tamales and other dishes cooked with fresh, local ingredients and authentic Mayan spices. If you're feeling adventurous, you can add a mild or spicy habanero sauce to your meal.

To complete your adventure, we'll head to the spectacular Bacalar Lagoon (Seven Color Lagoon), Mexico's largest freshwater lagoon. The lagoon part of our tour takes place at the Holly Margarita Lake Shore Club. Here, you can swim in the pristine, crystal-clear water, use a kayak, or simply relax with a refreshing drink from the bar, which offers a selection of international cocktails and spirits.

We offer daily departures year-round. For cruise ship guests, the earliest tour departs one hour after your ship docks; later times may be available depending on your vessel's time in port. Please note that availability is limited on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, so advance booking is highly recommended.

To secure your spot on this popular tour, a minimum deposit of $15.00 USD per person is required. You also have the option to pay the full balance at the time of booking, if you prefer.

All payments (deposits or full amounts) are fully refundable if your cruise ship is unable to dock in Costa Maya for any reason. Your booking is completely safe with us.

Physical Activity Level

This is an easy tour suitable for people with a basic level of fitness and health. The active water activities, including kayaking, swimming, and tubing, require a moderate to good level of physical fitness.

Operating Conditions

To ensure you don't miss out, our tour operates rain or shine. Check the day's forecast and prepare accordingly. Bring essentials like a hat and sunscreen for sun or a light jacket and water-resistant shoes for rain.

Important Notes & Site Rules

• This tour is better appreciated by children ages 6 y/o and older.
• Alcoholic beverages will only be served to guests 21 years of age or older.
• Due to the natural terrain and access points, the lagoon portion of the tour is regrettably not wheelchair accessible. We apologize for any inconvenience.
• Kayak Weight Limit: 220 lbs for a single, or a maximum combined weight of 270 lbs for a double.
• Children must be 10 years old to paddle a single kayak alone. Children under 10 are welcome to kayak when accompanied by a supervising adult.
• For safety reasons, kayaking is restricted for pregnant women.
• Life vests are mandatory for all water activities and are provided free of charge for your convenience.
• Civil Protection may restrict water activities on short notice due to weather conditions. This is done for the safety of all guests.

Recommendations for Your Tour

• Pack your swimsuit, a personal towel, and a change of clothes for your Bacalar adventure.
• We recommend biodegradable sun block lotion.
• Bring extra cash for minor expenses, credit cards aren't accepted outside the port area.

You will savor the true, exotic flavors of the Yucatan with an authentic lunch prepared with local spices, fresh ingredients, and traditional family recipes. Your hosts will even explain the recipes and let you see and taste the ingredients used to create your meal.

Our home base for your Bacalar Lagoon adventure is the Holly Margarita Lake Shore Club, offering direct access to the lagoon's crystal-clear waters.

Holly Margarita Lake Shore Club features a vibrant Mexican kitchen and a full-service bar. You can enjoy a selection of international cocktails and premium spirits while taking in the views.

Non-alcoholic drinks like iced tea, hibiscus tea, and horchata are included.

Your tour includes two alcoholic drinks for guests 21 and older. You can choose from our selection of beer and classic cocktails, including: Tequila Sunrise, Blue Lagoon, Purple Rain or Sangria. Additional premium spirits and international cocktails are available for an extra charge.

Make the most of your time at the Holly Margarita Lake Shore Club with our complimentary WiFi and amenities. You can relax in the sun with our loungers and umbrellas, or explore the lagoon with our complimentary kayaks.

Your safety is our top priority! Following regulations from the Civil Protection Authority, all guests must wear a life vest while kayaking. We also require that an adult accompanies any child under the age of 10 in the kayak.
