The Chacchoben Extreme Tour includes the Chacchoben Ruins Tour plus a visit to the Seven Color Lagoon (Bacalar Lagoon) on the edge of Sian Kan Biosphere Reserve and inside the Manatee National Park.

The location is perfect for swimming in the refreshing waters of the Seven Color Lagoon, kayaking or just to relax enjoying the view and the breeze sipping a cold Margarita under the shade of a cabana.

Our family admission policy allows for complimentary admission of up to two infants (aged 0-4) per family. Standard child rates apply for all additional infants.

Daily departures with limited availability on Christmas and New Year's day.
Earliest departure for cruise ship guests is one hour after the ship docks.

Tour departure point
This tour departs from The Native Choice Kiosk, a few steps outside the port. Tour confirmations include easy to follow directions, contact numbers and a map.

Payment information
A minimum deposit of $15.00USD per person is required to confirm spaces for this tour.
Deposits are fully refundable if for any reason your cruise ship doesn't call port at all in Costa Maya.
Online payment of the reservation total or remaining balance is possible within 21 days (3 weeks) before the tour.

Booking fee
We don't charge booking fees nor any other extra fees.

Cancellation policy
2 days before the tour to avoid a cancellation fee of $15.00USD per person.

Level of exertion
This is a walking tour suitable for people with a basic level of fitness and health. Participants must be comfortable with outdoors and be able to walk on trails under the jungle expecting a few rocks and roots along the way.
Kayaking, swimming and tubing in the lagoon are optional activities that require a good level of fitness.

Weather
This tour operates rain or shine.

Restrictions
Unfortunately, the lagoon part of the tour isn't wheelchair friendly.
This tour is better appreciated by children ages 6 y/o and older.
Weight limit for a single kayak is 220 pounds or 270 pounds for a double kayak.
Children must be 10 years old to kayak alone, younger children can kayak with an adult.
Kayaking is restricted for pregnant women.
Life vests are mandatory.
There's a $5.00USD copyright fee (not included in the tour price) for the use of video cameras at Chacchoben, this fee is paid directly at the site.
Tripods and drones aren't allowed into the ruins site.

Recommendations
Wear comfortable walking or tennis shoes and light clothing. Bring your swimsuit, your own towel and water shoes if you have them.
We recommend biodegradable sun block lotion.
Bring extra cash for minor expenses, credit cards aren't accepted outside the port area.

Lunch included in this tour consists of authentic beef or chicken or pastor tacos, refried beans, chips and salsa, guacamole (on season).

We can accommodate guests with special diets. If anyone in your party is vegetarian, allergic to nuts, crustaceans or gluten, just let us know at the moment of booking and we can accommodate your needs.

The Bacalar lagoon is perfect for kayaking, and is also tempting for swimming. You may simply choose to relax, enjoy the breeze and a cold drink, while the others participate in the other activities.
