Great Tour of Kohunlich Ruins

We took the tour of the Kohunlich ruins with Native Choice Tours. What a wonderful day. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The office was only a short walk from the pier and the driver and tour guide were ready to go as soon as we arrived. It is about a 2 hour drive to the Kohunlich ruins but well worth it. The van was air conditioned and very comfortable. Thatcho, (probably not the correct spelling), was a very good driver. Diego Mex, our guide, was wonderful. He gave us a lot of information about Mexico and the Mayans on the drive to the ruins. At the ruins, he took us around to various buildings and explained the significance to us and answered any questions. As we walked through the site, Thatcho would appear with ice cold bottles of water at just the right time. One of our group had been to Chacchoben and said that Kohunlich was so much better as Chacchoben has become very commercial. On the drive back, Native Choice provided us with a sandwich and snacks which really hit the spot. Diego was very good at time management so we never felt rushed. We arrived back at the pier with lots of time to spare before the ship was to depart. It was a wonderful small group and the site was not crowded. Diego enjoys his job and it shows in his enthusiasm and exceptional quality of the tour. We highly recommend this tour with Native Choice Tours.

Exceptional Day

This was my third cruise, with many excursions. While I have enjoyed numerous shore excursions on each cruise, none has been as informative and as enjoyable a day as the one provided this trip by Tour Guide Edder and Driver, Ivan. What a great day! The entire experience, visiting the ruins and spending the afternoon in the courtyard to lunch with a Mayan family was truly a wonderful way to spend the day ashore. I want to give a great review in response to the great day we had. Thanks so much!

A Wonderful Experience

The actual title of the tour we took was Mayan Family and Seven Color Lagoon but that wasn't one of the choice to select from the scroll down list. Out trip included a visit to a private home to learn about Mayan cooking where we learned the proper way to make corn tortillas and make chocolate from cocoa beans. The place was beautiful and the meal that we had was amazing time. After we finished our lunch we went to a private beach resort located at the Seven Color Lagoon. The water was beautiful and the grounds were lovely and the margaritas were free-flowing. Our tour guide Alondra and driver Saul were the best so very attentive, taking care of our every need. The best part was that we were the only ones that booked that tour for that day and so we had a private tour! It will be a trip I will long remember.

Excellent excursion!!

Great Tour

My wife and I booked the tour to avoid the expensive and crowded bus tours of the cruise line. It was the best decision we made! We were lucky because we were the only ones on that day, so we got a private tour with Merlin, our driver and Alondra our tour guide. We were almost the first people at Chaccoben and spent there two really interesting two hours. We got to know many facts about the maya, Mexico and saw places that were usually not open for tourists. We got water and really really enjoyed the day with the two guides!

Wonderful trip to 7-Color Lagoon

We met David in Costa Maya, then traveled to his home in a nice small bus. There we had a wonderful home cooked meal, and learned about local medicinal plants, ate some freshly ground chocolate, and received a bag to bring home along with some excellent ground chilis. Next we went to the 7-color lagoon for swimming and drinks lasting about an hour. All in all, a nice, relaxing day - highly recommended.

AMAZING

FIRST OFF, I AM AN AVID CRUISER.I TOOK MY MOTHER AND DAUGHTER TO COSTA MAYA. MY MOTHER JUST HAD A DOUBLE KNEE REPLACEMENT AND THIS WAS HER FIRST VACATION AFTER. THIS TOUR WAS GREAT! THE TOUR GUIDE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SMART. KEPT MY MOTHER AND DAUGHTER ENTERTAINED. DEFINATLY WOULD USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. WALK WAS NOT LONG TO GET TO THE COMPANY. THEY DROPPED YOU OFF WITH AMPLE TIME TO MAKE IT BACK ON THE SHIP.
