fantastic tour and price

The onboard price was nearly 3 times booking through Native Choice. It was super easy to book and a confirmation email was sent with all the information including a simple map to the main office (very easy to walk to). All the staff was friendly and I'm sure were just as knowledgeable as our guide Patricio (Patrick). The ruins are amazing and worth the trip. I wish there were more stars to give!!

Marvelous Mayans

Native Choice is First Rate. Toured with Guide Patricio (Patric), and driver Hebner. Patricio's knowledge and his ability to share it is incredible. Besides showing and teaching us about the ruins he taught us about the ancient Mayan culture. He taught us about the Mayan calendars and showed us the Mayan number system in such a way that it was easy to understand. Patricio is an outstanding teacher.

Fantastic Tour!

This was a great way to see the area! We really enjoyed the tour to Chaccoben, the driver (Saul) and the Guide (Alondra and Rosa) were great and very knowledgable, answering lots of questions and providing a lot of detail about the areas we visited. The Seven Colors Lagoon was absolutely beautiful and the lunch was delicious! We will definitely come back for another tour with The Native Choice!

Fantastic Tour!

This was a great way to see the area! We really enjoyed the tour to Chaccoben, the driver (Saul) and the Guide (Alondra and Rosa) were great and very knowledgable, answering lots of questions and providing a lot of detail about the areas we visited. The Seven Colors Lagoon was absolutely beautiful and the lunch was delicious! We will definitely come back for another tour with The Native Choice!

Fabulous Experience

I am so glad I took a chance with Native Choice. The tour was fabulous. I just wish we had enough of a stop to do the Mayan Experience! We hope to come back and do another tour some time. Enrique and Ivan were fabulous and were able to share information in a way that the kids enjoyed it as well as the adults. Thank you so much for a great excursion. The map directions were easy to follow and the walk was really nothing at all to Native Choice.

Dinner with Family

My family (party of 8 - all ages) loved the Mayan Experience tour. I had worried the tour of the ruins would be hot, but the walk through the lush landscape on a drizzly March morning was relaxing. I was excited to get to climb the steps and step back in time as Eric explained the history of the area. Alondra (?) our in bus tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and able to keep up with a smart alec guest who was trying to stump her with silly comments. The bus ride was comfortable and the bus was fairly new and in great condition. The food in the Mayan household was delicious and the women so friendly! We had a baby with us and all the staff worked to keep him entertained so that we could enjoy ourselves. Key things to remember: 1. Native Choice provides PLENTY of bottled water. 2. When they pass the pineapple town, ASK to stop and buy fruit. 3. Remember to take plenty of cash to buy the beautiful handiwork of the ladies at the Mayan home. 4. When looking for the Native Choice office, just keep walking. It is a little way out of the port, but the locals are happy to direct you to the Native Choice Office.

Outstanding Tour

I e-mailed Ivan prior to our cruise and asked him about accommodating my wife's electric scooter. His detailed response and cooperative attitude led to our tour with The Native Choice. Upon arrival my wife drove her scooter the four blocks to the office where we were met, offered a beverage, a chair, and prepared to load for the tour. We were in a new, air conditioned vehicle with four other guests and a private guide and driver. Nice ride to the ruins and thoroughly enjoyed the guide's explanations of the area, culture, history and surroundings. A highlight of the tour was lunch in a Mayan village, prepared over an open fire, making tortillas and enjoying a superb seven dish lunch. We had an uneventful ride back to the port - they dropped us off right next to the port stores for a short scooter ride back to the ship. This is a class outfit. We have traveled, cruised and toured over 70 countries and this ranks in the top tier. The service, attention to detail and tour ranks high on our list. Highly recommended!

EXCELLENT EDUCATIONAL TOUR

15 min. walk from the ship. Directions to the Native Choice office were easy to follow. There were 5 people on our tour age range range 50 to 60's. Van was comfortable ride was educational. Fabiola one of our tour guides explained the Mayan culture, vegetation and wild life with maps and pictures as we drove to the site. She gave us gum from a gum tree so we could try it and showed us how natural plant dye could color water. A short stop to pick up some fresh pineapple slices and then we were at the ruins. At that point Edder our other tour guide took over and explained the ruins and the Mayan culture to us. We were able to climb the ruins and got some great photos. Again pictures and maps were shown to help visualize the city better. We were shown resin incense and allspice leaves. Unfortunately the monkeys did not make an appearance. So interesting I could have stayed there for several days. Following the tour we had a bag lunch and a quite ride back to the port. Most excellent time we had on our vacation.
