Best tour guides and drivers

We had the best time in Costa Maya, the tour guides were so friendly.
Alondra and Lorenzo were so great, they made our experience so enjoyable.

We went to the Chacchoben Ruins then to a private beach and had lunch and drinks at hayhu....which we highly recommend as well!

Thanks Alondra and Lorenzo for making our trip great!

Family Trip

I want to start by thanking our driver Edgar and Diego our guide. They were exceptional. I was a bit weary about using an outside company, but I do not regret it for a minute. I recommend this company completely. The Mayan experience excursion was all that it said it was. We drove to the location and saw a few Mayan Ruins had an opportunity to take photos . (take mosquito repellent) aside from the mosquitoes it was great. After the ruins we drove to a Mayan families house, where we learned how to do our own tortillas and had a wonderful lunch prepared by the ladies of the house. Those ladies were awesome. Keep in mind that these families take time to make our experience a pleasant one, so please take time after the lunch to buy a little something that they put out for one to purchase. I was the only person who bought something. I spent $13 on two homemade small purses. Very pretty. Also remember to tip the driver and guide. ( my suggustion)

ROSE WAS AMAZING

My husband and I chose this excursion for our last port of call on our cruise and it did not disappoint. The gentlemen who greeted us was so funny and welcoming, and gave us bottled water to have on our trip. Our tour guide Rose was SO sweet, she really made the trip. The ruins were so cool to see, and Rose and our driver doubled as servers for our cocktails at the lagoon and we were just really impressed with them. Her suggestion for the pineapple and the spice was OUT OF THIS WORLD. My husband and I are already craving it. Basically I'm writing this to say Rose was amazing and made our trip. :) She can come to Boston, MA anytime and we'll show her around!

Our Favorite Excursion!

I booked this tour for our family including my husband and I, as well as our two kids, 13 and 17 years old.. Everything about the day was absolutely perfect! .

First of all, our tour guide Juan Carlos was AMAZING! I was so impressed at his wealth of knowledge! It is about a 45 min ride from the cruise terminal to the ruins and Juan made the most of this time sharing with us the history of the ruins and the area. He was so engaging! You could feel his excitement and respect for this land and culture in the stories he told.

When we arrived at the ruins we were joined by another guide who gave us the tour of the actual ruins. Our guide seemed much more knowledgeable and personable the other guides that I noticed. He took us off of the trails and showed us different plants, trees, and even a few spider monkeys in the surrounding area.

After the tour of the ruins it was time to unwind at the Baclar Lagoon! We were the only group visiting the resort on this day so we had the whole area to our group of aprx 10! It was breathtaking! The staff was so helpful with getting the kayaks in and out of the water as well as attending to our drinks!

I would highly recommend this tour! In spite of the cruise ports never being long enough, I feel that we left with a great sense of the culture and the area, in addition to being able to experience the tropical beauty in the lagoon! 5 out of 5 stars!! And a another gold star for Juan Carlos!

Exceeded our Expectations

Although not booked through the cruise lines, the online sign up and booking all went smooth. During the short walk to tour office everyone was helpful and friendly. After a quick check in, cold water bottle waiting and a pleasant 50 minute drive to the sight on an A/C bus. Edder was extremely knowledgeable and made everyone very comfortable with introductions and his humor. As Pedro drove through the towns and villages, Edder gave us great insight into the people, culture and development of the Costa Maya area. Once at the sight of the ruins, it was short level walk of minutes to the ruins. This is where Edder really shined with his knowledge, Mayan culture and was very thorough on answering all questions. Both Ralph and I had visiting the Mayan ruins on our bucket list, Edder made it far exceed our expectations and yes we stopped for some pineapple on our tour back. Edder is very respectful of his fellow Costa Mayans and everyone on the tour. I would recommend this experience to everyone that comes to the Port!

Eric Ivan C and Native Choice

I've been on the Native Choice tours with Eric Ivan C and the gang many tours now, and the last was as great as the first....First of all ,the Native choice team including the owner know how to give a AAA tour experience. Eric's knowledge of Mayan history make this a must do for any trip to Costa Maya...The driving team is safe and courteous, and these guys are like family...so when you are in Costa Maya, take the time to find Native Choice...see you on the next NCL cruise :-)

Excellent tour

We had a very good tour. The bus ride was about one hour each way and our tour guid did an excellent job of talking about the area and its history. The visit into the local village was very nice and a great cultural experience for my kids. The food was outstanding and it was a nice experience that I would highly recommend to others.
