We enjoyed the tour greatly. We had two very good tour guides the name of one of the guides was Ron he did a very good job of keeping us informed about everything. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and aware of our surroundings

Great Excursion!

My husband and I did the Chacchoben ruins tour & Blue Lagoon retreat. It was fantastic! Jose Manuel was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. Shout out to Ron, Raul, and Benicio too!

Great time!

Diego and Miguel were very knowledgeable and welcoming. The early tour is the time to go. The drive allows you to see the culture. The lagoon was a small piece of paradise with a great lunch and drinks! Best bang for your buck for an excursion.

Educational and hands on

Great tour from Ivan. He is a native Mayan and gave great stories. We were allowed to take plenty of photos and climb the ruins. Dress accordingly as it’s a jungle environment and you will be on site for at least 90 minutes. 1 hour travel each way.

Excellent Tour and Guides

We booked the Dzibanche tour and it was worth every penny and some. While the tour company's office is about a .5 mile walk outside the Costa Maya Pier area, it was a safe walk and worth going outside of the cruise ship's tours. We were lucky to have Rosa Mora, Juan Carlos and Emelin as our guides and driver, as they were informative, accommodating and fun! If you are wondering whether the 2 hour drive to and from Dzibanche is worth it (we questioned it before booking), it most definitely is. These ruins are beautiful, and not busy as its one of the newer sites available to visit. There was only one other group there, so it was comfortable to climb the ruins. What was special about our tour guides was they they climbed with us, and continued to share fascinating information; and we noticed the tour guide from the other company did not. What also stood out was that Emelin, the driver brought umbrellas, bottles of water and was on stand-by at all times in case we needed anything. As we were heading back, he literally ran to the air conditioned van to start it up, have the ac running and also had cold, wet towels for us cool down. His level of care was top notch! We then had a tasty sandwich, chips and granola bar on the way back. Rosa went over and beyond with us, and made it point to keep up informed at all times. They certainly made an excellent team and made our day unforgettable!

Fun Times!!!

Ron, Rito, and Eric were so amazing. I learned so much about the ruins from Eric. Ron and Rito were hilarious on our bus, and kept us all laughing. They went the extra mile to make us feel not like tourists, but like family. If we needed an umbrella, they were at our elbow like ninjas handing us one before we could as, and showed up just as quickly once the rain stopped to keep us from having to carry them. The 7 Blue Lagoon was gorgeous, and the people there were just as welcoming, and the owner even came out to talk to and welcome us. I'd recommend them for your tours of Costa Maya. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing

We had an amazing time with Ivan and his crew! It poured that day but we still had a great time. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Thank you for the air conditioned van, water, care and everything that you guys did. We felt absolutely safe and well taken care of! Wish we could have stayed longer! BOOK with the LOCALS!!

Thoroughly Recommend

We were a little unsure about the tour as it was not via the ship and we had to walk to the office. We were so wrong, after a 5 minute walk we easily found the office and were immediately given a bottle of ice cold water. The transport was modern and comfortable and the driver and guide excellent. The actual tour around the ruins was enhanced by our guide’s knowledge and enthusiasm. The driver also joined us providing plenty of ice cold bottled water as we walked around. On the journey back we stopped for fresh pineapple and dragon fruit, sold by the locals. Finally we were dropped off at the cruise port after an excellent day out.
