A Wonderful Experience

While I was initially hesitant about booking this tour in a "foreign country", I'm so glad I did. Our family so enjoyed Ugo as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Mayans. His friendly attitude and gracious demeanor really won us over. Juan Carlos and the female (sorry, I forgot her name) assistant guides were very accommodating to us. You did not feel rushed to get to the next stop on the trail. Ugo let us stop and search for the spider monkeys and showed us so many interesting plants and facts about the native trees. Pedro was a very good driver and we really appreciated the air-conditioned van. This entire trip, from our ship debarkation and our return to the ship took us a little over four hours. There is a lot of walking, but things of quality take time. Don't rush the experience. .

Please don't hesitate to book this trip. It's so much better than booking through a cruise shore excursion.

An awesome experience!

We had a ton of fun on this tour. Our tour guide Fabiola was great, and very knowledgeable. She took time to make sure all questions were answered and made sure everyone got all the info. The bus was nice and easy to get to from the port. We stopped for pineapple off the road and it was delicious. The local home/garden meal was the best part, it was so beautiful! We'll definitely book another excursion through the native choice again someday.

Extremely nice excursion

We were very pleased with our tour! The Native Choice was able to accommodate our group of 12 with no problem and at a reasonably cost, the van had AC and was very comfortable and clean. Our driver Emelin, even carried a chair for my husband to sit during the tour since he has a back problem. Our guide Grissy was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They made sure we were safe, comfortable and that we returned back to the port on time. I will definitely use them again.

Perfect Day!

From beginning to end, it was a perfect day.
A short walk from the port to Native Choice building. People would direct us along the way how to get there.
Check-in was friendly and hassle-free. They offered water as soon as you arrive. Had about a 45 minute ride to the ruins, but the tour guide gave lots of information during the drive so it went fast. Ruins were beautiful and the guide was great! Offered us waters and umbrellas (due to the extreme sun). We were limited on time because of our cruise time so the tour guide planned accordingly to make sure we would have enough time to enjoy the Lagoon. Yes, the drive to the Lagoon is on a dirt road and bumpy. What do you expect, you are in Mexico!! The Lagoon is BEAUTIFUL! I've never seen so many shades of blue before!! Upon arrival we immediately were served our lunch of Chicken Fajitas and rice/beans which was wonderful. We then walked to the Lagoon area which was small, perfect size since there were only about 15 of us. There are lounge chairs and little huts (first come first serve). As we sat enjoying the sun, the guide would come and take our drink order :)
There are kayaks to take out. Make sure you bring water shoes, there are a lot of rocks in the water.
Overall a gorgeous day!! Thank you Native Choice!!

Totally unexpected and thrilling

We were unsure what to expect on this tour but were thrilled when Lorenzo our guide took us out and informed us of all that we saw in a way in which we could relate to and understand. It seemed that this was a better tour than that provided elsewhere as we were away longer and had the site pretty much to ourselves just a couple of spider monkeys for company. We stopped for fresh Pineapple on the way back which was a treat. Go with these guys and you will have a great time ! Thanks to Miguel's driving we felt very safe.

Great Day

With Rosa as our guide, and Habner as driver and water bottle supplier, our small group had an educational tour of the Chacchoben site. The sun was a bit hot, even for April, which helped us appreciate the air conditioning in the van.
We spent an ample amount of time exploring the ruins before making a short trip to visit a Mayan village where we made our own tortillas and then had a superb lunch with a tour of the garden.
One thing we really appreciated was the lack of additional sales push for upgrades or anything else. My wife and I would both reccomend this tour. You will not get this kind of attention on the large excursions.

Great tour of the DZ ruins. nice van, plenty of water and food to get us through the day. Great tour guide (ROSA)and driver. Got us back to the ship easily on time. Allow 6 hours for this tour.
