Great tour experience!

We had a great experience! We walked to the company's office which was just a few blocks out of the port area. They transported us in very nice vans and we had phenomenal guides. Patricio was so knowledgable and shared so much wonderful information with us. On our way back to port we stopped at a roadside stand for fresh pineapple. They dropped us off at the port when we were done. A great experience that I would highly recommend.

BEST excursion ever !!!

My husband & I booked this excursion after reading all the great reviews of this tour. Let me tell you, you will not be disappointed! Absolutely loved this tour. Very organized and our tour guide(female) forgot her name but spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable of the culture and different sites. She asked all our questions and was very sweet. This was an eye opener to us Americans to see how blessed we are. The ruins were beautiful and we went to a local Mayan families house where they provided and amazing spread of their food. We got to make home made tortillas and take a tour of their home. Very sweet family and great hospitality! I highly recommend this tour. More for adults & children over 10. Where they can benefit from the history. Hope to go back again :)

Perfect day

First, thank you for not cancelling our tour. We were the only two who booked this. Our guide, Rosa, was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day.
The ruins were every bit as enchanting as we had hoped. Our driver was efficient and safe. The van was very comfortable. Worth the two hour ride,

Excellent tour!

What a great tour we had with Native Choice! Four of us did the Chacchoben Extreme tour and it was a perfect day. The office where we met to start the tour was a very easy straight 4 block walk from the pier. Everyone at the office was very friendly and professional. Our driver Saul did a great job driving and the van was clean and air-conditioned with drinks provided. Our guide Allandra was so wonderful. She provided us with so much interesting information and was so very nice and a pleasure to get to know. At the ruins another guide from the office, Diego, gave us a very interesting and complete tour of the ruins. He was a wealth of information and we learned so much. Then it was off to the 7 Colour Lagoon where we had a fantastic lunch and time to relax. It was absolutely beautiful there and very peaceful. We are so very happy we went with Native Choice and would highly recommend them to everyone.

Very impressed!

This was the first shore excursion I have done that was not offered by the cruise line. So of course I was worried about the usual things: safety, getting back back on time, quality, etc. I read many reviews before making my decision and they were spot on. The staff was wonderful. It was a small group. They were very knowledgeable. Diego was a joy to tour with. Yes, the area around Costa Maya was sketchy. But once we were with Native Choic we felt very safe and they were dedicated to getting us back on time. We took a taxi from the port, mainly bc my Mom couldn't walk that far and then walk the tour. But if you are concerned about walking to their office, the taxi was cheap. Just remember to have cash on hand. The locals don't take credit cards. Another reason I selected NC was because of how they treat their employees and donate a portion of the ticket price to the Mayan Villages. Overall, very happy and I would definitely recommend.

I was a little nervous booking this experience because it was not through our cruise line and this was my first time in Mexico.

Our first stop was in Costa Maya and second was in Cozumel. We began comparing excursions and noticed that and it was only a 45 minute drive to and from the Chacchoben Ruins vs the 6 hours(!) of travel time to the Chichen Itza ruins in Cozumel. l was unsure of what to expect as I knew that we would have to find the Native Choice office, since we didn't book through the cruise line.

But it was easy enough to find and Native Choice will send you a map (just remember to print/download it) with your confirmation e-mail. We arrived at the office a little late and unsure that we would still be able to go. But everyone was friendly and we were soon on our way in a van. Native Choice provided a tour guide Fabiola and a driver Alejandro. Both were incredibly knowledgeable and very nice!

On the way to the site Fabiola gave a brief lecture on the geography of Mexico, Mayan history, and Mayan culture, occasionally consulting Alejandro. She had a backpack full of goodies to use as demonstration which she also used at the site. When we arrived at the site we were allowed to use the restroom facilities and then walked a brief path to the ruins. Wow! Beautiful! While there Fabiola gave us information on commonly used plants and trees by the Mayans, the styles of Mayan architecture, Mayan culture and history. Alejandro found some bits of broken pottery left by the Mayans and Fabiola explained that it was likely a bowl.

On our way back to the office Alejandro stopped and Fabiola obtained fresh pineapple from a roadside stand. Delicious. We were also given a bag of local spices that are commonly eaten with the pineapples. I loved it so much I am on the look for it back home. Native Choice also provided everyone with cold water throughout the excursion, which was refreshing and considerate. We arrived back at the ship right in time for departure.

My amigas and I were extremely happy we booked this excursion and talked about it for the rest of the cruise. Native Choice is a great choice and Fabiola and Alejandro did a fantastic job!

Great tour!

The tour was terrific and our tour guides (Diego/Miguel) were extremely knowledgeable. Diego was very detailed about the ruins and gave a lot of history and information. They always made sure we had plenty of water and even helped me up the steps to the top of one of the ruins. They were great! Only downside to the tour was getting to the Native Choice location from the ship. Directions were hard to follow and the walk was about 30 minutes.

Great Experience

We were excited when we signed up for our excursion but had no idea how nice it was going to turn out. We had a great tour guide (Juan Carlos). He was very informative of the culture and environment. The resort at the lagoon was a very impressive and quiet. It turned out to be the best excursion that we did on our cruise. Everyone that we came in contact with Native Choice where kind and helpful. We plan on coming back. Thanks for the professional service!!!!
