The most memorable of all excursions

Dear Ivan,
We would like to thank-you for starting this cruise off, with the most memorable of all excursions while on this cruise. We truly appreciate you sharing your culture and heritage with us. The tour was completely amazing. It was truly a one-on-one tour. The small groups allowed a lot of interaction and your ability to get us to all the sights and still avoid the massive “cruise-ship-excursions” was very impressive. It was if we had the sight to ourselves for photos and questions.

The Native Choice Tour (and you as our guide), honestly showed pride in your heritage and culture and were anxious to explain it all to us. You were not trying to “sell us something” like everyone on the ship. This experience was truly a breath of fresh air.

The visit to the Chocchoben community was wonderful. The host family was friendly and very hospitable. The food was amazing; better than all the fancy cooking on the ship. Please thank the host family for opening their home and culture to us as well. We loved it.

Even though we did not have children with us, you interacted great with the family that had small children with them. You were able to entertain them and us all at the same time. Amazing.

You have an excellent and informative website. I would recommend this tour company over ANYTHING the cruise ships have to offer. We wish you the best of luck and great success in your business. You are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Magical experience

Went on the trip with Native Choice to Chacchoben Mayan Ruins on the 12/2/10
We found the whole experience magical, David our guide was a mine of information,
He would stop and pick some leaves hand it to us to smell, then explain what the leaves was used for. At the Ruins he would tell us everything about what we were
Looking at. Very friendly, excellent transport, well worth the money, and cheaper than the cruise ship. Would rate them 10/10

More than pleased with our experience.

We were more than pleased with our experience. We did a Mayan ruins tour in each of the ports we visited and yours was by far the best. David and Veronica are extremely well versed and experienced in making the Mayan Experience tour an event to cherish.

Thank you both very much for sharing this experience with us. I highly recommend this tour to all ages.

You actually spent a little extra time explaining your life and your beliefs and it was a pleasure. The tour of the ruins was fabulous!

The tour of the ruins was fabulous! Hearing about the Mayan culture from someone with such
respect and personal knowledge was very eye opening. We were a group of six and felt very personally taken care of by the entire staff. This was SO much better than anything the ship was offering. Ivan and Katherine were wonderful. Anyone wanting to see the Mayan ruins... this is the best, most personal tour around. You will not be sorry for making this choice. We also went to beautiful Laguna Azul. It was so private and fun. We really felt like we were able to get a feel for the country. Thank you Native Choice for helping to make this one of the best family vacations we have every had!

Thoroughly fascinating.

My wife and I did the Mayan Experience tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants more than the average tourist excursion. The one word that comes to mind is respect. Ivan conducted the first part of our tour which took us to the Chacchoben ruins. On the way he provided far more information about the entire region than I would have ever expected. In short, he respected our intelligence, and didn't give us a watered-down, tourist friendly speech. It was a lot of information, but thoroughly fascinating. He also provided a tremendous amount of information about the ancient Mayans who created the ruins, and who passed their beliefs down to the Mayan people who still inhabit the region today. While continuing to respect our intelligence, he imparted a profound sense of respect for those ancient people and their civilization, and for the modern-day Mayans. Not surprisingly, this led us to feel a lot of respect for him and his company.

The second part of our tour was conducted by Noel and took us to Chacchoben village where we were treated not as tourists, but as honored guests. We made tortillas, were fed a delicious meal, and danced with our hosts. Noel imparted a fantastic amount of information about many aspects of life in the village. The scenery was beautiful, the people were warm and friendly, and the entire experience was unforgettable. We will be doing it again!
