What a great day we had.

What a great day we had. I didn't know how my twin 8 year olds would feel about the ruins so debated on if we should leave them on the ship that day at the Kids Club. So glad we took them. They got a little antsy during the tour but enjoyed climbing and running around the ruins. Our guide was informative and kept things moving and gave us time to wander a bit and take pictures.

Though I have to say my fave part was the lunch and lagoon part of it. The place they took us was beautiful, first we ate in a very large open air hut. Everything was clean and looked fairly new. They served us chips and the freshest most delicious pico de gallo I ever had. The meal was chicken fajitas with beans and rice, everything was delicious. They brought us more if we wanted it which we kept loading up on the chips and pico. Then it was an open bar, beer, daiquiris, margaritas, pina coladas.

After lunch we went to the lagoon which was the bluest water. We kayaked and the kids played on the water trampoline and slide for hours. Very relaxing and it was a small group so not a hundred tourists. Fantastic day!!

Very happy with our tour and personal attention.

I just wanted to say that we were very happy with our tour and personal attention. There were 8 in our group and we wanted to be outside the crowd on the ship and booked on our own. It did take a bit to get to the building (but we were told you are moving this month to be closer) but the tour made everything better!

Thanks so much!!!

If we have the choice to use Native Choice we will!

What a great trip.

Our family booked with Native Choice to see the Dzibanche Mayan Ruins.

What a great trip. We go off the boat and walked to the area to catch a bus to the NC office. The bus was a little late, but we made it - paid the balance in US dollars and were off in a van for our 1:45 minute ride to the ruins.

Our guide was Francisco. He was a wealth of information about the Mayans - their lives, their culture and their calendars. Then when we arrived at the ruins we basically had the city of ruins to ourselves. My wife and teenage sons absolutely loved the experience. The ruins, the stories the Howler Monkey at the top of the trees. It is worth the long drive if you want to climb to the top of the ruins and be in a place that is peaceful and beautiful and tourist free. Plus, the views from the ruins are amazing.

We brought our own bug spray - and I didn't even notice bugs during the 90 minutes in the park.

There is a rest room at the entrance. Bring a big memory card for pictures. I was concerned about booking this trip in a foreign country, but will go with Native Choice the next time we are Mexico.

The absolute best part of our entire cruise!

Shuttle to main tour was hectic. A little misunderstanding about the tour was quickly remedied. The tour was the absolute best part of our entire cruise! The van was comfortable and air conditioned.

Our guide, Francisco, was everything you could ask for. He was friendly, knowledgeable, excited about the tour. He also took care of us - shared his bug spray, advised us how to bargain for the sale, etc.

If we return to this area we will DEFINITELY book another tour - or several tours, if time allows - with Native Choice.

Had a wonderful time.

Our second time using The Native Choice.

First time was 15 months ago and had a wonderful time. We wanted to return to the ruins at Chacchoben and this time went with a group of Cruise Critic members. Ivan was the BEST guide, taking his time to explain all about the Mayan history and lots of details about each site visited.

Nice lunch of fajitas and drinks of choice afterwards, following by swimming and kayaking in the lagoon.

Ivan also went into great detail about the Mayan numbers and calendar.

Very nice, air conditioned vehicle, very professional, skilled driver. Well run, professional company. Would use The Native Choice again and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to visit the beautiful ruins at Chacchoben when in the Costa Maya area. Very personalized tour, and everyone had a wonderful time.

Thank you, Ivan, for making our day very special.
You are the best!!

Fabi was such a sweet and nice girl

Best private tour. Fabi was such a sweet and nice girl as our guide, with David as our driver.
The company was very flexible to combine both Chacchoben and Seven Color Lagoon for us, and extremely conscious on the clock for us to get back to the cruise ship.
Tour to Chacchoben was very informative. We also enjoyed authentic cuisine at Seven Color Lagoon, with very relaxing and fun time there.
The whole trip was well managed with enough time at both places and back to the cruise. Our guide kindly and constantly reminded us when we lost track of the time to make sure we would have enough time at the next stop.

What an incredible experience!

What an incredible experience! Howler Monkeys, ancient ruins, beautiful views and basically a park to ourselves.

Our guide was Francisco - a man who is passionate about Mayan history and Mayan legend and full of information about the culture and the ruins.

I read a lot of reviews about Native Choice and then exchanged a couple of emails with Ivan before booking. I am so, glad we stuck with the plan.

I traveled with my wife and three sons (20, 19 and 16 years old). The drive to Dzibanche was as advertised - about two hours. During the drive, in an air conditioned van, Francisco explained the Mayan history and gave us a few breaks to just enjoy what we were seeing outside. By the way, you pass through a couple of little towns where people are selling things like fruit and tamales on the side of the roads. Usually they stop for a moment, but the bus to get us to the Native Choice's office was late so we got started about 25 minutes late.

A note on that. If you are coming from a cruise ship - its easy to find the area for the bus. Just don't get on one that is going downtown or to the beach. A few of the guys out front speak English and will help you get on the Native Choice bus.
Its about a 5 minute ride to the office and then you are off on your trip.

We traveled to the site with a young couple from New York. So, there were just 7 of us in the van and during the tour 7 tourists with the one guide - it was great.

The ruins were incredible and there are two massive structures that are just inspiring and you can actually climb up to the top of both of them. The views at the top are magnificent.

Take the bug spray, take some water and a snack, take your camera and you will not be disappointed.
