Our favorite stop.

We were looking forward to this tour well before our ship even left Florida! The ease of booking made it even better. We never expected this to be our favorite stop. We only anticipated visiting the Mayan Ruins as part of our cruise, like expected. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised to LOVE this tour! It turned out to be our very favorite stop.

Our tour guide Frine was amazing! Together with Louisa they exceeded our expectations. We were in the first van out with only 12 in our group. We arrived at Chacchoben early and were fortunate enough to see EVERY ONE of the ruins on our own with NO OTHER visitors in our photos! Frine told us how rare that is and for that we are thankful that she was anxious to get us started on time.

We learned so much and truly enjoyed listening to Frine with her expert knowledge and what could only be described as passion for the Mayan culture and people. I'm sure she could have talked all day and we would have listened. She knew incredible details about the ruins, the people and the plant life around the ruins.

We also appreciated the staff from the Native Choice following us around the ruins offering COLD bottled water. We were there in August and it was a blessing to have the water handy. The vans were also top notch, with excellent air conditioning and very comfortable.

My only suggestion would be to REMEMBER the bug spray! Frine even suggested buying some in port as it is geared for the types of bugs native to the area. The mosquitoes were HUGE.

We would highly recommend the Native Choice for any excursion and look forward to using them again in the future.

Would highly recommend your tour company. Everyone was so friendly, professional & knowledgable! Loved driving through the countryside to get to the Chacchoben Ruins.

The small groups via the vans made it so much more personable than being on a huge tour bus.

Everything was well organized and ran smoothly.

I took this tour with my husband, 2 sons and my parents. We were lead by Andrea throughout the tour and Joel taught us about the ruins on site.

We had a wonderful time. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly. We had a great ride to the ruins and to the Mayan family's home.

I highly suggest booking your tour in Costa Maya here. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable. I cannot thank you all enough for making this day a highlight of our cruise.

We cannot say enough about this magnificent experience! Our tour guides were so well informed and gracious, thank you Veronica and Andrea!

The Mayan meal was superb, all the ingredients from the local gardens. We had such a unique experience at the home of these lovely Mayan women! Never would this be possible on a cruise ship excursion. Small group in a van made the trip even more interesting, very conducive to comments and questions. Thank you so much, we would certainly recommend Native Choice very highly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour experience with Native Choice: Jose at the Chaccoben Ruin site, Jacobo (van tour guide), and Christian (van driver). All were very knowledgeable and courteous and this tour was one of the highlights of our cruise.

Jacobo was very informative about the local people and region along the 45 minute drive to the tour, and was able to answer all our questions. Jose, our guide of the Chaccoben Ruin, was also very knowledgeable, including interesting trivia that we could impress our friends with upon return from the trip! The sparkling lagoon with thatch-covered outdoor huts, kayaks, refreshments, and lunch fare provided a welcome respite and we were returned to our ship in plenty of time to prepare for the evening's formal dinner. Thank you all!

This was a wonderful excursion.

This was a wonderful excursion.
We were a group of 15 ranging in ages 8 - 75 and there was something for everyone. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and informative and really tailored the day to meet our needs.

The ruins were very interesting and the kids loved the lagoon. The water was so very blue and we kayaked and swam. It was very beautiful and very private which was nice. The food was delicious and it was my husband's birthday that day and they really went out of their way to get him a cake and to make it special.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Top notch!

My hubby and I booked a tour of the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins and Lagoon break with Native Choice online. We decided NOT to book our excursion through the cruise line to save $. We were so pleased with our tour guide Casey and our driver.

Casey was super friendly and you could tell she loves her job. We traveled with 3 young kids ages 13,11 & 4 and they all had a wonderful time. After our tour of the ruins we went to have lunch at the lagoon. The lunch was amazing and the staff was outstanding!

please don't hesitate to book with this company they are top notch!
