Informative and enjoyable tour

Thank you so much to Grisel (guide) and Tacho (driver) for making our first-time experience in Costa Maya an enjoyable one. Grisel was friendly, knowledgeable and patient as we took our time viewing the ruins. She knew the history and we enjoyed listening to her share stories about the people in the area. The tour was a private one and we appreciated the ice-cold bottled water they provided on a hot day. She and Tacho were also very kind in stopping at a local fruit stand on the way back to port so we could experience some fresh mango and pineapple. Thank you so much for a memorable tour and I would highly recommend Native Choice tours to anyone visiting the area. Because of Grisel I am also considering returning one day for a more in-depth visit of the Yucatan Peninsula!

Great trip

We had the most amazing time on our tour. We booked this before we sailed and I had read the reviews almost all 5 stars. We had no trouble finding the tour office. We took the Chacchoben extreme tour and it was great for four older ladies. Angelica was our guide and imparted a lot of information on the Mayans as she is part Mayan. At the ruins Enrique was our tour guide, this man has so much knowledge and answered all our questions. The true highlight was going to Bacalar Lagoon it was was absolute paradise. I would definitely recommend this tour company.

Native Choice Tours is the Best

This was the second tour we took using Native Choice, and just like the first, it was excellent! Our tour guide and driver, Fabiola and Heri Berto, were both top-notch. We had reserved a tour of Dzibanche Ruins, but when we got to the Native Choice office, we were told that the road to that ruin was not in good shape and that it would cut our time too close to get back to the ship. We were given a choice of two other ruins, and we ended up going to Kohunlich ruins. They were absolutely beautiful and well worth the two-hour drive it took to get there. Can’t say enough good about Native Choice Tours. It’s easy to book directly with them and not pay the mark-up that the cruise ships add to do the same tours.

A Most Informative Guide

Hugo and Miguel were such pleasant and informative guides. We learned SO much about the Mayan culture and the history of the area as well as the flora and fauna and how they were used. We felt we got excellent value for the cost. We were also impressed with the efficiency of the company, the quality of the vans and the small number of the people in the tour.

Best Tour Ever

This is a must-do tour. Our guide, Al, was extremely knowledgeable regarding the history, botany and geology of the area. She made the time pass too quickly! Lunch at a Mayan home was excellent even if I did not do a great job of making tortilias! A very good value for the money

The best day of our Cruise

Wir hatten großes Glück mit unserem Reiseleiter Hugo, der uns während der Fahrt viel über die frühe und jüngste Geschichte der Majas berichtet hat und mit dem Fahrer Emilie, der uns flott aber sicher zu den Ruinen gefahren hat und rechtzeitig die Rückfahrt unternahm, so dass wir ohne Probleme das Schiff erreichen konnten. Die frühe Abfahrt in den Kleinbussen mit 10 Mitreisenden ermöglichte ein Eintreffen bei den Ruinen bevor die großen Reisebusse der Kreuzfahrtschiffe ankamen. So haben wir die Ruinen fast für uns alleine genießen können. Ein besonderes Erlebnis war der Besuch bei den Majafrauen mit denen wir Tortillas herstellen und essen durften. Insgesamt der beste Tag unserer Reise. Viele Grüße an Hugo und Emelie.
