WOW

This is a MUST Tour with a MUST Tour Company. The Native Choice did a fantastic job from the moment of reservation to the drop off in front of the ice cream shop!!! We were honored to be able to tour the Chacchoben Ruins and truly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the Bacalar Lagoon Resort. We would have loved to stay the week instead of just the afternoon. Thank you Native Choice for having us and showing us the beauty of your home.

Highlight of the trip!

I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Hugo was terrific; very knowledgeable - there was a smattering of botany, ancient history, geology, culinary arts, literature as well as local culture all intertwined in his lecture. The site of the ruins was well kept and the buildings themselves were very impressive. The tour was very well organized from start to finish. I had a great time - would highly recommend!

Carnival Breeze

Great Excursion!

My teenage daughter and I did this tour on our first stop off of Carnival Breeze. The map to find the Native Choices company and the check in there was very organized and easy. Our tour guide, Fabiola was awesome! She was super friendly, knowledgeable and able to ask any questions that we had. We were able to stop to try some local pineapples and that was great. Learning about the ruins was awesome. Our stop at the Lagoon was very nice. It wasn't very warm that day but we were able to take advantage of the kayaks and have a nice meal with the others from our tour. Would definitely recommend this tour company and this tour.

A great experience

Thank you for the incomparable day with you. It was a unique experience. The best trip during our two week cruise.

The guide and the driver were great. Everything was perfectly organized and executed. From the beginning to the end. We were only two and so we had a private tour of the ruins. It was amazing. Everyone was friendly and competent. We always felt safe an understood.

The two ruins were impressive; a good combination. The guidance of our guide was very understandable and personal.

You can hardly do it better. We can only recommend this agency. Keep it up! We hope to see you again.

Beautiful Immersive Experience

From start to finish we had an experience we will cherish. We enjoyed an air conditioned van ride to the Mayan Ruins site, where Rosa our AMAZING tour guide and a powerhouse of Mayan knowledge gave us a good lesson in the diverse area, the native species, and the history of the people. She paced us well through the hike, giving options for easier advances up the hillside to the ruins. She worked around the other groups well to make sure we were able to see all the sites, and was able to pack in an unbelievable amount of information. My entire family enjoyed the learning experience, and we were able to remember a lot of what she had taught us. The trip to see the Mayan family was so endearing, we were more than welcomed! Rosa taught us a Mayan greeting to tell Ms. Vicky who would be teaching us the ways of authentic Tortilla making, she was sweet, patient, and a great teacher. We were able to sample MANY traditional dishes, and there was more than enough to eat. Truly wonderful food, unlike anything we had ever had before! The tour of their home, revealed many native plants, and animals. Roberto our driver even stopped to pick us up a roadside pineapple when we inquired, they included a small packet of smoked jalapeno powder which Rosa taught us to sprinkle on slices of fresh pineapple.
If you book your tour request Rosa and Roberto they will MAKE YOUR TRIP WONDERFUL! Thank you so much for our amazing experience, we all hope to come back!

Informative & Muy delicioso~!

Met @ the tour office w/Erick (recommended from a friend); tour was very informative and enlightening. Erick did a great job with the information and allowed time to view the ruins and answer questions. Later, Erick took us to the village where they showed us how the locals live and sustain their spices and food within the walls of the yard and house. Erick's mother taught us how to make tortillas and then fed us a traditional meal complete with hibiscus tea. We were able to purchase some items made there @ good prices. Absolutely enjoyed this excursion. Thanks again Erick.

A spectacular tour

Highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning about ancient Mayan culture/architectures as well as relaxing at a private resort near the paradise-like Blue Lagoon. Our tour guide, Pedro Sanchez was extremely knowledgable about Mayan traditions, and he showed us a lot of pictures and graphics which were super helpful in understanding one of the most renowned ancient civilizations on the Meso-American soil. All the staff members at the private resort were also very friendly and accommodating to the needs of tourists.

Great time

Really enjoyed the tour of these ruins. Our guide, Ivan, has a wealth of knowledge and had his own interesting personal stories to tell about these ruins. I would highly recommend this tour!
