Best excursion

The Dzibanche Ruins were amazing to experience. The two hour drive from Costa Maya was worth the education and opportunity to walk on the temple ruins. Tour guide, Diego, and his driver made the trip fun and interesting. Diego was knowledgable, enthusiastic and courteous. Thank you for a great day!

Wonderful engaging experience.

Our tour guides were very informative, sharing information about the region, the culture as well as the ruins. They were a wealth of knowledge and were able to answer all questions with excellent detail. The group size was small and all the guides were very personable. They were very accommodating and even waited for us when we arrived late. I would highly recommend this tour company

Edder Gonzalez - Great Tour Guide

ONLINE TOUR BOOKIN: Booking Chacchoben Extreme Tour with Native Choice was very easy. I booked months ahead of my tour, I was required to make a minimum deposit and the balance paid in cash on arrival at the Tour Office in Mahahual – Costa Maya. This was executed seamlessly, not a single hitch or glitch.
ARRIVAL AT TOUR OFFICE: The Native Choice Tour office is located outside the Cruise Port Terminal, we had to walk about 20minutes outside the Cruise Port Terminal to get to the Native Choice Tour office. Its quite a walk – Private Tours are not allowed to be located within the Cruise Port Terminal. The best way to locate the office is to ask the many Traders/Store owners at the Cruise Port Terminal.
MAYAN HISTORY, TEMPLES & RUINS: Once at the Native Choice Tour office, we were well received and ushered into a fully airconditioned 20-Seater van; Edder Gonzalez was our Tour guide while Juan was the driver. In our tour party and in the van, we had people from Romania, Australia, Canada, Belgium, New Zealand and the U.S; - Edder Gonzalez catered to each one with an exceptional level of dedication and accommodation; he was highly knowledgeable, professional, conversational, engaging and accommodating. He provided an informative narration of the Mayan history all through the 55minutes drive to the Mayan Temples and ruins and throughout our time at Chacchoben.
BACALAR LAGOON RESORT: After an expounding tour of Chacchoben, we drove on a bumpy – unpaved road to a beautiful, exquisite and serene Bacalar Lagoon Resort. We had lunch; Beef & Chicken Tacos, beer, sodas, tequila, margaritas, Pina Coladas. We proceeded to do some swimming, kayaking at the Seven Color Lagoon at the Bacalar Lagoon Resort. We had a great time here, Edder and Juan were very helpful with drinks and all we needed for a great time.
PINEAPPLE VILLAGE: On our way back to the Cruise Port, Edder Gonzalez, advised that we have a taste of the local sweet Pineapple and Mango, we did, they were both delicious and juicy. Everyone in the bus bought a whole Pineapple [$1 each], peeled, cut and cleanly and neatly packed into a to go plastic, same for the mango.
Thank you Edder Gonzalez and Juan for an interesting, funny, engaging, safe, and informative tour. Native Choice Tour company did a great job, the management should be proud of Edder and Juan.

Just Great

Our tour was just GREAT!! Ron and the driver Emelin where superb! We booked the morning before while at sea with little internet access. Everything was smooth from booking to the tour. Ron was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing everything about costa maya! When they took us to the private Eco Resort he was very clear about the road conditions and what was at the end! Oh man the Bacalar lagoon was more than we expected. The eco resort had great service food and the guys ensured we where catered every second like royalty. It was very memorable and above all safe!

Heads up: look very close for the important points on the map to get to the meet up office because the little mall/resort is very confusing to get through

Best trip ever

Edder was a tremendous tour guide. He was interesting, likable, and not a bit pushy. I would go with him again. Loved every part of this tour. Food was great, Lagoon was the best part of the 7 day cruise. Had a massage at the Lagoon---very nice.

Exactly what we hoped for

We were overly pleased with the decision to go through Native Choice for this excursion. Price was wonderful compared to ship prices, Hugo and Edgar were incredibly informative and helpful guides who knew everything about anything we asked. Watching other groups look lost and uninformed seemed like their trip was almost a waste without the background info to go along with the tour. The walk to the office wasn't bad and directions were easy to use.

Excellent Trip

From start to finish trip could not have been organized better. Excellent check in and reception.
Drivers and guide and and have great local knowledge. Vehicles are first class. Don't fall for your ships propaganda about using only ship tours. Native Choice is a much better experience. Mayan meal will never be forgotten for its taste and hospitality of the family. Thanks again Native Choice can't wait for our next tour.
