Great tour

This was an incredible tour. It was just my wife and I and our guide Ivan, who was one of the best guides we have ever had. It took 2 hrs to get to the ruins during the ride Ivan gave us a history lesson on all the ruins in Mexico, Peru, Belize and history of Costa Maya. Once at the ruins we climbed several of the structures, which was great. Ivan continued to explain the ruins and the history of the site. He always had an answer to any question we had. He was one of the most knowledgeable guides we have used.

I strongly suggest if you want to climb ruins and see some fantastic structures and learn about Mayan history take a tour with The Native Choice tour group and request Ivan. We will use them again.

Excellent Excursion

We loved our experience with Native Choice. Our guide was Ivan and he had so many amazing stories to share and was so knowledgeable with the Maya Ruins, it kept everyone in our group very interested and wanting to hear more. I don't think you would get a better experience with anyone else doing this tour. Would definitely recommend doing the Maya Ruins tour with Native Choice if you plan on it. When you get off the ship you can walk to their office, which isn't very far and they will give you directions. We stopped for pineapple on the way back which was so good and sweet.

The groups are small so it's a much more personal experience than how the cruise ships do it and we found it better organized than the crazy crowds they have on cruise ship excursions. The vans are all air conditioned so you don't have to worry about that. Native Choice also has insurance coverage which guarantees that if something were to happen, they would make sure you make it back to your ship, same guarantee the cruise ship guarantees.

If your going to Costa Maya and interested in learning about and seeing the Chacchoben Maya Ruins, I would recommend booking through Native Choice, you won't be disappointed.

Best excursion ever!!!

I can't say enough about our experience..Joel, our guide was very knowledgeable & told us all about the Mayans & how they lived then & now. The ruins were very interesting especially with his personal touch. The best part of the experience was going to his village & having a Mayan lunch in one of their homes. We had a glimpse into their lives & even were taught how to make our own tortillas! They fed us an amazing feast we will never forget.

Don't miss this opportunity to the best excursion ever-truly our most memorable!

Could not have been better

Our tour guide Victoria was great, the ruins were neat to see. My favorite was the resort we went to at Bacalar lagoon, fabulous views of the lake.

Best food I've had in a long time, I'd go back anytime. If you ever get the chance to visit this place you wont be sorry, you will leave hoping one day you get to come back.

Ruins and Lunch - Unforgettable experience

Short walk to bus from ship. Comfortable, air conditioned bus. Mayan ruins are a must see and Joel our tour guide was very informative.

Lunch after with Mayan ancestors was delicious, authentic and unforgettable.

A must do excursion!

Joel was wonderful

For Joel to be any better he'd have to be twins.

He was knowledgeable and answered all questions. Everyone was polite. The Mayan family was fabulous, opening their homes to us and entertaining us all at lunch. It was fun making the tortillas.

Excellent Tour

We had a great tour right from the start. The check-in process was painless and we had a comfortable wait for our tour to begin.

The van was comfortable and driven well by Edgar, our driver. Our tour guide, Erick, was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer all our questions. It was obvious he is passionate about his heritage. He was friendly and gracious to all the guests.

We recommend it!
