Fabulous tour.

When we planned our tour, we were mainly interested in seeing some ruins, but it turned out that we learned much history of the Mayans and the site and even about Mexico. Erick is an excellent tour guide and should be commended for not only his historical insight, but also for his good humor. He made sure we were all comfortable, even providing us with lunch and beverages.

We absolutely would recommend this tour company and most especially this guide, Erick. And we loved the driver, Edgar, who was so accommodating to us all.

Very informative and personal

We had an amazing time on this tour. I was a little worried about booking because we had such a short time on port and I didn't want the ship to leave us. Our guide was aware of the time constraints and made sure to get us back without feeling to rushed.

Our guide was Joel and he was very informative and funny. He had a personal connection with mayan culture and you could tell that he wanted to give us the most accurate information. His passion really made the tour. Make sure you try the pineapple and chipotle it was amazing.

I would definately book with the native choice again!

Mayan have another?

We had personal attention from David, our guide, as we were the only group that day. He was informative, knowledgeable,engaging and conscientious of our port return schedule. He has piqued my interest in all things Mayan and the wealth of culture the Mayans have bequeathed to us. David made the park and ruins come alive with his stories of the Mayan beliefs about the transparent veil that separated their existence from their ancestors. Makes you want more!

Amazing Experience

I highly recommend this shore excursion! Ivan our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared his passion with us. Having lunch in the village was an experience I will never forget. It was authentic delicious food.

Wonderful tour!!!

We book this tour online. This was our second trip to Costa Maya. There is not a whole lot to do in the port town. We decided to do something adventures and explore some ruins. The van was shiny and clean. We traveled with a group of eight. The drive to the ruins was a little over two hours. Our guides were fantastic! Joel informed and entertained us the whole journey. I have been on several ruin tours but this by far was the best. Joel, a native Mayan, shared his Mayan history with passion and great respect.
When we arrived at the ruins our tour group was the only ones there. I felt like a real explorer. The area is full of ruins. We saw locals in the process of restoring many of the buildings. It is hard to imagine this area without trees. Even the grounds were covered in concrete underneath layers of dirt. In its day it must have been awe inspiring.
I left the tour wanting to learn more....take the tour...you will not regret it :)

Chacchoben Ruins Tour

This was a wonderful tour. A 10 minute walk from the pier, air conditioned bus with free Wi-Fi (while in the city), free water and we stopped for fresh pineapple.

Our guide (David) was very informative and engaging.
We saved 1/2 the price by booking through Native Choice.

I highly recommend this to anyone.

Great Day!

We had a large group from both NC and FL - all cruising together. I had seen this excursion listed in reviews on a few sites, including TripAdvisor and suggested it to our travel agent several weeks prior to our cruise.

She made the arrangements for us and this ended up being one of our best days during the week-long cruise. Rose was our guide and Raul was our driver - they were both awesome! The van seemed brand new and was very comfortable. The ruins were very impressive and the lagoon and accompanying facilities were absolutely beautiful. Lunch was great and the pineapple we had along the road was fantastic.

The only problem we had was finding the Native Choice building and getting set to go (we ended up with a late start). But once we took off we had a blast!
