Great day

We pre booked this tour with a large group and the company made the whole process so easy. Their instructions of where to meet were also very clear, our guide was very informative and spoke fluent english, the ruins are a must. The Lagoon was very peaceful and the food was good, and free open bar the only thing i would add if you do this tour is take water shoes and the bottom of the lagoon is rocky.

Great Tour Would Highly Recomend It

We had a fairly short walk from the pier, it was raining and the guides meet us part way with umbrella. We checked in and had a short wait for the loading of the passenger van. We had 12 people in the group. Our tour guide was Kacie, she spoke perfect English. She explained everything to us on the ride out, and went into more detail as we were walking around the ruins. On the way back we stopped and had honey drop pineapple, it is a type of pineapple that is only sold locally, and not shipped to other countries. The price of the tour was about 1/3 of the price offered through the cruise ship. I would highly recommend this company, to anyone that wants to learn about the Mayan Indians.

Great Excursion

We all enjoyed the Chacchoben Ruins tour and so happy we booked with The Native Choice. We chose to schedule with The Native Choice instead of the cruise option. Very nice, air conditioned van, we were a small group of 9, and we had the best driver and guide, Joel. Thanks for your expertise in the Mayan culture. I recommend The Native Choice when they are an option.

Great shore excursion with Diego

We were in Costa Maya on a cruise. I booked this tour along with 15 other friends ahead of the cruise. The tour works with the ship schedule and departs one hour after ship docks at the port. Our group of 16 were put in one van and we had a wonderful time on the tour. Tour guide Diego was excellent in sharing information about the area we were in and the history of the Mayan ruin. We came back to the port with spare time to shop before heading back to the ship.

A Great Experience

We have a group of 16 people booked this tour outside of the Princess Cruise. We were lucky enough to get a 16 people van just for our group. Our tour guide Diego was very knowledgeable
about the tour and also shared much information regarding the island. Our driver Ebel not only provided a safe comfortable ride for us, but also went out of his way to carry umbrellas, a cooler full of bottled water, and sunscreen for the group. I will give this tour a thumbs up!

Great Costa Maya Excursions!!!

We were lucky to have Diego as a tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly person. he told us the stories and the history of the Mayan ruin. It was very interesting. The drive Adel was a very considerable person with a happy smile, he walked with us carrying the umbrellas ( prepared for the rain ) as well as the insect repellent. Fortunately the weather was good and there was no need for the umbrella. Thumb up and 5 stars from me.

Loved it

Our family of three took the tour to Chacchoben and we loved it. Our daughter is 12, she picked this tour as her favorite thing we did on the trip. Our guide was Kacie and the driver was Miguel. We highly recommend them, they made the trip so enjoyable. They had a lot of local knowledge. We loved the small group size. I also found their facts and theories about the Mayan history to be well researched and thoughtful (I have visited over 16 ruins and read extensively the current academic writings). We hope to use them again.

We made the right choice!

We experienced the best tour of our Mexican cruise. From the short walk from the ship to our greeting at the tour office and cold bottled water, we enjoyed learning about the Mayan culture and region from Diego, our knowledgeable guide and Mayan descendant. Diego made sure that he answered all our questions and taught us about the trees and native plants used by the Mayans. He explained the five different calendars and how the temples to Venus, the Sun, and the Moon were built and aligned. Giving us insect spray to protect us from mosquitoes was a super nice gesture. We had plenty of time to explore and even heard the spider monkeys in the tree canopy. Miguel, our driver, even drove us to the port entrance on our return. Overall, a memorable day! Thanks!
