Thank you so much for Joel and his expansive knowledge of the Mayan ruins and community. The tour was enjoyable in every single way. Whenever my dad had a question, Joel was always glad to answer his questions. Joel speaks with such enthusiasm and from the heart.
The hour ride to the ruins was comfortable and quick and on the way back we were able to buy local fruit which was a plus. I will definitely be taking another tour if I find myself again in Costa Maya. Thank you, Joel and Native Choice!

Neat experience in Costa Maya

This excursion combined a glimpse into a Mayan village and a pleasant afternoon swimming at a lagoon. It included about a one- hour drive where we got to see the countryside, roadside pineapple vendors, and even a small Mayan ruin. At the village, Mayan ladies showed us how to make tamales and tortillas and all of us (ages 10-74) actually made some that tasted pretty good at the lunch that followed. It was then on to the lagoon for a quick dip at a small resort and drinks. Throughout the trip our tour guide Rosy looked out for us, providing details on the history of the area and the flora and fauna. She even had the van stop and picked up tree leaves that turned out to be "All Spice"
She was a superb hostess. Sancho was an excellent van driver and a was very glad that I was not doing the driving. Overall, a wonderful experience, fun combined with learning about the Mayan history and culture. Highly recommended.

Better then expected

Didn't know what to expect with the tour but upon entering Native choice blog I was put at ease with how professional everything seemed our driver was an older gentleman that was a good driver our tour guide Grissy was wonderful my 13 yr old son and I felt like we were in an exciting history class. I felt like we were back in time she captured the spirit of the ruins every time she spoke. I learned so much she is a wonderful guide and a very caring woman .She made she we had water bug spray and her pace was perfect can't wait to do one of the other tours.Thank you Grissy

A great time

We had a really good time on our "extreme" tour. We got to see the ancient Mayan ruins in the jungle, which was quite impressive. We loved our time at the Seven Color Lagoon. The water was spectacular and warm. The service from Native Choice was exactly as advertised. They were very friendly, especially our Tour Guide Meriam. She was wonderful. The bus driver even dropped us off right at the cruise port on the way home. Thanks for a great day!

I felt like a VIP all the way with David!

Delightful and Super Fun Time While Experiencing Local Maya Culture

One of the most important things to me when I travel is to experience local culture with the locals. David did an outstanding job showing me the local area and sharing with me lots of interesting information about Maya culture and Costa Maya.

My visit with the Mayan family (Victoria and Sophia) was just absolutely delightful. I had so much fun learning about Mayan cooking and lots of laughs just hanging out with them. The traditional meal that they made for me was “oh so yummy”. As I stroll through the family’s impressive garden, David shared with me his deep knowledge of the local plants.

My swim in the alluring Seven Color Lagoon was so peaceful and relaxing. What an impressive place! David made sure that he was available and provided to me anything that I needed during my visit.

Amazing Excursion

We visited the Mayan ruins with this excursion. Our tour guide Edder is very knowledgeable and explained very well about how the Mayans lived and built their temples. Edder & the driver Edelle were very thoughtful, we were provided with bugs spray, water bottle & umbrellas while visiting the site. We had an amazing experience with them touring the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins!

Excellent experience

My husband and I were extremely pleased with our excursion! It’s great to support a local company and Erick was an extremely knowledgeable guide! Edgar was a great driver and made sure we got to our destinations safely and provided bottled water throughout the tour. We saw monkeys at the Mayan ruins and learned so much history as well. At the lagoon we had a delicious lunch and had plenty of time to kayak, swim, and paddle board. Would recommend to anyone looking for an adventure!

We made the right choice!

Our family was visiting Costa Maya on a cruise and really wanted to tour Dzibanche. Since it is such a long drive, we were concerned about missing the ship but the staff at Native Choice made us feel completely comfortable.

As promised, we left right on time and had a wonderful tour. We spent about two hours climbing the temples, which was an amazing—but exhausting—experience! To his credit, our guide Joel climbed each and every one with us so he could point out key details and explain what we were seeing. Best of all, we had the entire place all to ourselves!

In the end, we made it back with a good hour to spare and our driver even dropped us off right at the port. Thank you Native Choice—we had a terrific time!
