Breathtakingly beautiful

With Abel as our driver and Elisa as our guide, we experienced a beautiful and welcoming day at Bacalar. Elisa provided so much information during the drive and then guided our kayak trip across the lagoon. Lunch and drinks were provided in a setting so peaceful and lovely. It was a wonderful experience.

Amazing Experience

This tour was outstanding! Our tour guide, Rosy, and driver, Andreas, provided us with an excellent experience! They were both very friendly. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Mayan history, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. The best part was when we were able to eat at the Chacchoben village and learn a little bit about Mayan culture first hand. The food was excellent. The area was beautiful. Best excursion!

Great day!

Excellent day! Smooth transition to find check-in location at port. Air conditioned van was very comfortable. Everyone enjoyed ruins. Not an overly long stop but doesn’t necessarily need to be either. Our kids 15, 13 and 10 were satisfied but not bored☺️. Next stop at lagoon was very nice. Lunch was excellent. Windy day but got to enjoy the lagoon for an hour or so. Rocky bottom so water shoes were needed. Bathroom facilities were very nice. Edder was an excellent tour guide and Abel was a very cautious and safe driver! A great day for sure! Thanks Native Choice. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Tour and Guide!

We had such a wonderful tour, I highly recommend! Edder was our guide and he took great care of us. He made sure we had time at the ruins away from the other groups, it was very special. Abill was our driver, he did a great job. We really enjoyed both the ruins and the hidden lake. We will be back!

Most Enjoyable Excursion of our Trip

The Chacchoben Ruins tour was conducted by Ivan. We had a small group of 12 persons. The bus was well air conditioned and looked to be brand new. Ivan was a superb host. Very well spoken and informed, embracing his heritage, he was able to give us a beautiful perspective on the the Mayan culture throughout Central America and most specifically in the Choccoben Ruins area. The stone structures are amazingly well preserved and having visited ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza, this was by far our favorite, owing in great part to Ivan's colorful conveyance of the rich history of the region and people. Have no reservations about using this tour company, they are excellent. Their kiosk is outside the cruise ship terminal area, about a 10 minute walk, we felt completely secure both walking to the kiosk and on the tour. Other tour companies were present at the ruins and had groups of 60+ persons, in our small group, we moved easily throughout the park, avoiding crowds and with ample time and opportunity to ask questions and take pictures. We had no issues with payment or charges, we completed payment in cash at the kiosk after leaving a $15 per person deposit online. Friends did cancel their tour for personal reasons and received a prompt refund of the $15.

Most Enjoyable Excursion of our Trip

Fun and Unforgettable Tour!

Highly Recommend! Edder was such an AMAZING tour guide and Edgar was a great driver ! He was so fun to chat with and knew so much. It was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxed. The meeting point was easy to find and the staff was very helpful. The bus was very very clean and air conditioned. Edder and Edgar offered us ice cold water many times. The Chacchoben Ruins tour was very neat to see. Edder spent the drive there educating us on the history and the culture. When we got there, we got to walk around and take pictures. Edder gathered us together again and pointed out more things. Very cool place. Well worth the price. The small group size was perfect. Edder had great energy and was very knowledgeable. If you are stopping at Costa Maya, I highly recommend this tour!!

Highly Recommend

Our guide Erick was very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and helpful. Our driver Abel was great too, got us to and from safely and on time and made sure we had ice cold water to drink. The lagoon was beautiful!! We were a little apprehensive not booking through the cruise line but took a chance and we we couldn't be more pleased with The Native Choice tour company!
