Amazing Experience!!!!

For our anniversary my husband and I chose to go with Choice Native, knowing it was not connected with Royal Caribbean we took the opportunity hoping everything would go smooth. From the emails with direct directions (very clear) to getting to our pick up site and into the van was extremely easy. All was very smooth. We were told who would be our guide what vehicle and where we would be going. Amazing communication! Our guide was amazing, he was very informative. He gave a lot of information on the drive and even allowed us to stop willingly stopped at a fruit stand. Which we purchased amazing fruit! As we got to the ruins they informed us who would be our guide which was Joel. He was very knowledgeable and very informative. He gave instructions on allowing us to explore first, take pictures and then would give information on the ruins. He pointed out things that were not written down in the books. He was a local which helped make the experience even better. We loved being able to stand in the shade as he told stories and gave all the facts. We had the best experience at the ruins! They provided water and encouraged us to stay hydrated. We then switched vans which took us to the lagoon. This was amazing! Tacos, drinks, and the lagoon! It felt like coming home to family and friends. We felt welcome and it was amazing since there were only 12 of us all together. We were very well taken care of and had the most memorable experience. We are so glad we chose The Native Choice and would recommend them to everyone we run into. Thank you to everyone that made this amazing!

Outstanding Excursion

This was probably one of the best excursions we have ever experienced! Maggie, our Guide, and Edgar, our driver, were exceptional. It was instructive, interactive, and relaxing...but to be able to experience authentic Mayan culture was amazing! Filipe & Gladys were so wonderful & welcoming and the food was DELICIOUS!

Great excursion

The staff were very knowledgeable, there was great discussion and explanations about the ruins, religious beliefs of the ancient Mayans, etc.
In particular, David was a wealth of information and easily answered questions. Amaure was very helpful, especially in explaining current Mayan culture and cuisine regarding the family that prepared a meal for us (really loved the Hibiscus tea). Alberto, the driver, was very competent and professional.
I've previously been to other sites, such as Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba - but Chacchoben was spectacular!

History and Culture at it's finest

Our boat ported a day early and we called and they were able to accommodate us. We did an excursion to the ruins via an air conditioned bus. We had a tour host and a private guide who was Mayan and grew up in the area. He had a masters degree and was VERY knowledgeable about the people and culture. He speaks Mayan, Spanish and English.

Notes from this trip: Lunch was soooo good and fresh. The flan was some of the best I have had in my life. They say wear long pants and long sleeved shirt - it was HOT, we were only ones wearing that and melted, hahahah. Every article of clothing I had on was WET. I carried a personal fan with me and it’s the only thing that saved me that day. The long clothing is for the rainy season due to bugs, so inquire before you go. Lots of walking and very hot so if you don’t like either, I don’t suggest this trip. We did love the company and learned a ton.

Incredible Mayan experience of Chacchoben Ruins and lunch

Thank you so much for a fantastic excursion. What a great day experiencing the Chacchoben Ruins and lunch at the Mayan village. It was incredible.
Eliott was one of the best tour guides ever with his enthusiasm and knowledge of culture and history. He included so much information about the Mayan culture, mathematics, and day-to-day living.
The ladies at the Mayan Village prepared an incredibly delicious meal. We were truly spoiled by Orquidea, the wonderful Chef and her entire team.
We also enjoyed touring the Chacchoben Ruins with our guide Diego. Edie, our driver, was excellent on our entire tour.
The excursions you offer with a smaller group and local guides are much more meaningful and personal. I look forward to booking another tour with you on my next cruise in November.

Would do again 10/10

We absolutely loved our tour of Chacchoben and would recommend it to everyone! Our driver, Abel, was excellent — we felt safe and comfortable with his driving. Our guide, Edder, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much history about the site and the Mayans. The tour was the perfect length — not rushed, but also not too long — and we had enough time to take in the sights. One of the highlights was being able to climb up to the top of the Sun temple, which is a rare and unforgettable experience.

We arrived at the Mayan experience native choice kiosk and we were greeted so kindly!
Our driver Thadddus very sweet!
Tour speaker for the day was Maggie!????
She gave us a run down of the Mayan ruins and how it got its name!
Very knowledgeable of their town and where a lot of the areas were located!
She explained how they grow their fruits and veggies!
I tried my best to pronounce the names and yes she was very helpful and helping me as well!
Our dinner and dessert that was provided for us was very good and was grown on the land!
The fact that they grow all the ingredients that they needed to prepare the food was amazing! I wished that we had more time to learn more about their culture but we were pushed for time!
I enjoyed learning how to make tortilla and cook on an open flame alone with the sauce with Mrs victory!She was very fast and knew what she was doing, well experienced I must say! I loved it!
Maggie I still have my cinnamon leaf! Thank you so much!
And yes we’re coming back to visit!
Cause I love for y’all to cook us another meal! ????????????????

Excellent excursion

What a fantastic day. Our guide, Joel, a native Mayan, provided so much insight into the development of the Mayan temples and civilization. We were initially concerned about booking with an independent tour, however, Joel was already knowledgeable about our schedule and we saw everything within the allotted time. We highly recommend Native Choice when visiting Costa Maya.
