Truly remarkable

I booked this tour after extensive research with different sources and am I glad that I chose David and Ivan's.

Ivan was our guide at the Ruins and he was truly remarkable with his knowledge and passion in his work. Especially after he showed us the place where he lived as a small boy before the excavation of the ruins began I could understand the connection he has with the area.

We were in a small group (10), unlike the other groups we encountered that were the industrial tour sized that arrived in the big buses.

David met us at the Native Choice Booth at the port and we traveled in a van for the 45 min drive to the Ruins. David talked almost the entire time telling us of the history of the area. We met up with Ivan at the ruins and joined his small group and for the tour.

If you want the best of the best then book your tour with David and Ivan's. I have told our incredible experience to many people and I would not hesitate to book with them again.

One of the best tours I have ever taken

We really enjoyed the tour! Eliu was our guide and he is a natural in this business.

He presented the history of the local area and the ruins in detail and in a manner that was easy for everyone to understand. He answered all of our questions with detailed explanations. He helped us "think Mayan" during the entire experience. He pointed out trees and plants that the Mayans used and the meaning and use for all of them.

In all, it was one of the best tours I have ever taken.

Ivan is so knowledgable about the Mayan culture and the ruins having been born at the site. We thoroughly enjoyed this great experience and would love to come back again.

We'd recommend Ivan and David to anyone wanting to experience the Mayan culture. Ivan's passion and love for the culture was very evident.

A wonderful and informative experience

A group of six of us had scheduled a tour to the Dzibanche ruins but road construction prevented us from going there in the time available. Instead we did the Chacchoben Extreme tour with Eliu as a guide. Although somewhat disappointed at the time, as it turned out we had a most wonderful and informative experience.

Eliu was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna as well as the Mayan culture and history. The ruins was larger than expected and most impressive, the experience at Laguna Azul was quite and relaxing and the native lunch there was delicious. We all felt that the experience was well worth our time and the price we paid.

We would highly recommend these folks to anyone visiting Costa Maya!

Couldn't be more pleased

What a great time at the Chacchoben Ruins! My wife and I usually just go through the cruise ship for our excursions because of concerns about locating the tour, getting back on time, etc., if we go with an outside group. This was the first time we ever booked outside of Princess and we couldn't be more pleased with how things went.

The ease of starting the tour, the information we received on the way to the ruins and during the tour, the extreme friendliness of everone we encountered. It was all great.

Beautiful and educational

Thank you so much for the wonderful tour. You are so knowledgable about the ruins and the history of the Mayan people that it made the tour both beautiful and educational.

Your animation and obvious pride in your history made the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend your services to anyone traveling to Costa Maya. It would be regretable to be there and not experience your tour. I was also impressed by your knowledge of the local flora and the medicinal uses for all of the plants. It was an amazing day.

The tour was wonderful.

The tour was wonderful. Eliu knows a lot about the natural plants that made the trip more interactive and educational. The vanilla ice cream being sold at the ruins was delicious.

Only thing I don't recommend is the Cat's Meow restaurant.
