The Chacchoben Extreme adventure will take you from the green of the jungle to a refreshing adventure in the crystal clear waters of the Seven Color Lagoon. Admire its colors as they go from an electric blue to a turquoise green.
The Chacchoben Extreme Tour includes the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Tour plus a visit to the spectacular Seven Color Lagoon (Bacalar Lagoon) inside Sian Kan Biosphere Reserve.
The location is perfect for swimming in the fresh clear waters of the Seven Color Lagoon, kayaking or just to relax enjoying the view and a cold drink under the shade of a cabana.
Please note that we don't guarantee we will see any wild animals during this tour, however, the jungle usually gives us little or big surprises.
Chacchoben Extreme Tour Details:
Price per person: Adults US$80.00, Children US$70.00.
Inclusions: Round transportation in air conditioned van, travel insurance, English speaking guide, entrance fees, guided tour at Chacchoben Mayan Ruins, bottled water, visit to the Seven Color Lagoon for swimming and kayaking, lunch and drinks such as bottled water, sodas, beer, tequila, margaritas, pina coladas and daiquiris. The use of kayaks is also included.
Duration: 5.5 hours.
Departure times: This excursion departs from The Native Choice Hospitality Desk (just 150 yards from the port) one hour after your cruise ship docks.
Deposit: A deposit of US$15.00 per person is required at the moment of booking to guarantee spaces for this excursion. Balance payment will be required ONLY in cash at check-in. You can also pay the total of your reservation at the moment of booking if you don't want to carry cash with you.
Your deposit is refundable if for any reason your cruise ship doesn't call port in Costa Maya.
Restrictions: Child rate applies for children under 12 years of age. There is no charge for children 5 years old or under.
There is a fee of US$5.00 (NOT included in the tour price) for the use of video cameras at the ruins of Chacchoben. This fee is paid directly at the entrance of the site.
Recommendations: Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a hat and your own towel, sun block lotion is a must. Consider bringing extra film (or an extra memory card) and batteries for your camera.

Our excursions depart from our office one hour after your cruise ship docks.
The following itinerary is an example to give you an idea of travel times and times spent at Chacchoben Ruins and at the lagoon. This scenario would apply for a cruise ship arriving to Costa Maya at 8:00AM. Times vary based on your ship's arrival time.

09:50AM Arrival to Chacchoben Ruins.
10:00AM Guided tour at the ruins.

Chacchoben Extreme Tour Info:
After the ruins tour in Chacchoben the excursion continues to the Bacalar Lagoon. To get there we need to take a trail at the community of Pedro Santos, which is on the way back to Costa Maya. This ride takes around 15 minutes.
The Seven Color Lagoon (Bacalar Lagoon) is the perfect place to get in touch with nature and enjoy the beauty of a fresh water lagoon.
The Lagoon is perfect for kayaking, and is also tempting for swimming. You may simply choose to relax, enjoy the breeze and a cold drink, while the others participate in the other activities.
Children who like swimming and adventure are also invited to join us.
For this part of the tour a swimming suit is definitely a must. You may also choose to bring your own towel. At the hotel there are clean bathrooms where you can change.
